It is a long-term process of clarity, development, and positioning.
These Four Pillars form the foundation of my mentorship.
Understanding them will help you choose the program that matches where you are now - and where you want to go.
Identity & Direction
This is the foundation of everything!
Before working on images, we look at you, your background, your way of seeing, and what keeps returning in your attention.
This is not only a creative process, but also a psychological one. We go deeper into how you think, what drives you, and what actually belongs to you - not what looks interesting or trendy.
WORK IN THIS PILLAR INCLUDES:
• identifying patterns in your images and interests
• understanding your personal concerns and motivations
• distinguishing between influence and imitation
Through this process, you begin to define your artistic identity, recognize the themes that genuinely belong to you, and establish a clearer direction for your photographic practice.
Without this clarity, even strong images remain disconnected.
Visual Identity & Image-Making
Once direction becomes clearer, the next step is learning how to translate it into images.
This pillar focuses on the process of making - always connected to your direction, not isolated exercises. You develop technical skills through your own work, not through theory alone.
WORK IN THIS PILLAR INCLUDES:
• understanding and shaping light
• visual storytelling
• turning ideas into images
• building consistency and visual language
The goal is not technical perfection, but clarity - images that carry your intention.
This is where your work starts to become recognisable.
Representation & Positioning
Strong work is not enough if it cannot be understood
This pillar focuses on how your work is seen, read, and interpreted by others.
YOU LEARN HOW TO:
• select and edit your work
• build a clear and focused portfolio
• write a biography and artist statement
• communicate your work without over-explaining
Presentation is not decoration - it is part of the work.
How you present your images shows how seriously you take them.
People with experience can read this immediately.
This is where your work becomes readable to others — not only strong, but clear.
Opportunities & Ecosystem
This is where most phoographers get stuck.
This pillar focuses on the reality of the photography world - how things actually work beyond taking pictures.
THIS INCLUDES:
• exploring different possible paths (commercial, editorial, gallery, teaching, etc.)
• how opportunities are created
• how to approach relevant people, institutions, and platforms
• how to write a clear and focused pitch
• how to present your work differently depending on context
• how to build relationships over time
The focus is not on sending mass emails, but on making thoughtful, targeted approaches that reflect both your work and the system you are entering.
Important shift: Talent alone is not enough.
Work needs to become visible, understandable, and positioned within a system.
